Statement: It has been my pleasure to serve the citizens of Kitsap County for over 30 years as a Deputy Prosecutor and currently as a Kitsap County District Court Judge. I have had the good fortune over my career to appear before many outstanding judges, in cases ranging from simple assault and DUI to aggravated murder. I have learned what it means to be a fair and unbiased judge and how to listen with understanding and compassion. I served for many years as the Drug Court Prosecutor and participated in the creation of the Veterans Treatment Court and the Behavioral Health Court. I currently preside over the Human Trafficking Court (THRIVE Court) and serve on the Executive Board of the Kitsap Human Trafficking Committee. In 2009 I volunteered to become a certified dog handler in order to bring the first Courthouse Dog, Kerris, to Kitsap County to ease the trauma experienced by some, often children, appearing in court. I am grateful to have been appointed to the bench and will continue to serve with integrity and distinction. I am the proud father of three daughters and reside with my wife in South Kitsap. |
