currently represents the interests of Bellingham taxpayers in the City

Statement
James Erb has spent his entire legal career working for the people.
He is a seasoned trial lawyer with experience prosecuting serious
felonies and handling complex civil matters including family law, labor
and employment law, land use, and open government. His breadth of
experience, integrity, and commitment to justice will make James an
outstanding Superior Court Judge.
James and his spouse, Heather, chose to build their life together in
Whatcom County. Their boys were born here, attend public school, and
play soccer at the Northwest fields. James has enjoyed teaching local
students about our justice system as a mock trial team coach and
competition judge. He also volunteers to provide free legal advice at
Street Law.
James will make decisions based on the law, treat everyone with the
dignity and respect they deserve, and work to provide equal access to
justice. He will also work with the prosecutor, sheriff, and other
stakeholders to safely reduce and prevent incarceration.
