Statement
Whatcom County is my home. I grew up in Bellingham, attended local
schools, and graduated from WWU. My extended family lives here and my
wife and I are raising our children here. This is my community.
I work for the people. I started as a lawyer for the City of Bellingham
and climbed my way up through Municipal, District, and Juvenile Courts.
I now prosecute felony crime in Superior Court, with a focus on seeking
justice for survivors of sexual assault. Outside the courtroom, I teach
constitutional law at the college, and provide regular legal training to
police and community groups. Through this, and time spent as a judge pro
tem, I gained invaluable civil, criminal, and judicial experience.
I am grateful for the meaningful endorsements of Whatcom County Judges
Matt Elich and David Grant, Bellingham Police Guild, Prosecutor Eric
Richey, Sheriff Bill Elfo, Lummi Police Captain Melanie Campos, Whatcom
Councilmember Barry Buchanan, Humane Society Director Laura Clark, and
many other community leaders.
As your Judge, I will promote equality in the courtroom and serve each
of you with compassion and integrity. My commitment is to the people of
Whatcom County and I humbly ask for your vote.
