Statement
Experience is important. I have more judicial experience than any other
candidate for Island County Superior Court. Perhaps that is why I also
have endorsements from all three current Island County judges as I seek
retiring Judge Vickie Churchill's seat. I've spent my career helping
people solve their problems, winning complex cases in court but also
settling disputes and avoiding expensive trials. Colleagues describe me
as hard-working, fair, and a legal scholar, and I've used those
qualities on behalf of my clients and in my courtroom. As a judicial
officer, I've been tough but fair on criminal conduct, and I'll continue
to support programs, such as Drug Court, that help offenders earn their
way back into the community.
From adoption to probate and everything in between, many of us find
ourselves in Superior Court, and it can be difficult. My husband is a
retired Navy critical care nurse. We both see many vulnerable people who
need us to be patient and compassionate, as well as experienced. These
are trying times, and both of our Superior Court judges are retiring. I
am proud to step forward to offer to serve the people of Island County.
I ask for your vote.
