Court of Appeals judges serve six-year terms, with approximately one third of them elected each two years.

(King County)

District One elects eight judges; Position 2 is on the 2011 ballot. Michael Spearman was appointed by the Governor to Position 2 in March 2010. He was elected to retain his office later in 2010 without opposition. He is running for re-election to a full six-year term in 2011; he is again unopposed.

District Two elects two judges; there will be no Court of Appeals elections in this district in 2011.

(Island, San Juan, Skagit, and Whatcom Counties)

District Three elects two judges; there will be no Court of Appeals elections in this district in 2011.

(Clallam, Grays Harbor, Jefferson, Kitsap, Mason, and Thurston Counties)

(Clark, Cowlitz, Lewis, Pacific, Skamania, and Wahkiakum Counties)

District Three elects two judges; there will be no Court of Appeals elections in this district in 2011.

(Ferry, Lincoln, Okanogan, Pend Oreille, Spokane, and Stevens Counties)

District One elects two judges; there will be no Court of Appeals elections in this district in 2011.

(Adams, Asotin, Benton, Columbia, Franklin, Garfield, Grant, Walla Walla, and Whitman Counties)

District Three elects two judges; there will be no Court of Appeals elections in this district in 2011.

(Chelan, Douglas, Kittitas, Klickitat, and Yakima Counties)
